Yesterday I completed the faceting of a piece of peridot.

I didn't have very good quality of stock to start with but this one turned out okay. It measures 6.5 mm across. I have not yet decided on what I will set this stone in but it will probably be consistent with my other projects using sterling silver. I am contemplating sculpting a flower to set the stone in but part of me wants to do another trinity knot and mount it in the center.
I also set a piece of moonstone in sterling silver wire. That was a fairly easy task.

I am now setting up to facet a piece of citrine. Here I am showing the before image and when it is complete I will show the completed piece.

Now that most of the freezing weather is behind us, hopefully, I have some home projects that I need to accomplish. The flower beds in the front yard are screaming for attention. I will have to get some more topsoil and compost to build up the center of one of the beds. In that bed there is currently a Japanese Maple that mostly died prior to purchasing the house. The purchase happened a few years ago but I am now in a position to take it down. Right next to it the squirls decided to plant a Catalpa tree and I let it grow. It is now about 12 ft tall so I will let it continue growing. In any event I need to get the dead tree cut down and begin work on the bed itself.
I happened to go into the shed addon that was part of the house I purchased yesterday as I don't frequent going in there. That is where I store many of the tools I will need when I get ready to start the spring yard work. I looked up and noticed the OSB board that was used in the construction is rotting. I am not sure why someone would use OSB instead of normal "D" grade plywood but it is now a mess that will also need attention. I have done some roofing in the past but this will be my first attempt to repair a section rather than roofing the whole house. It's a good thing I retired or that would have to wait for a while.

Sorry to hear about more work on the house. I figure they used OSB because it was cheaper? I am glad you retired you seem a lot more relaxed. Also love your yummy dinners too. Thank you. It's good for you to do what you want with the house and hobbies. The last 3 days I have some really bad back and hip pain. I have read up on repressed anger stores in the back and hips also sitting at my new job when it's so busy is hard on my back as well. This feud with my mom isn't good with the anger I have with her. So anyway I'm glad it will be warmer now. fo…
